READ THIS!!!!
Posted: 02-09-2008 10:07 | 0 CommentsI'm gonna write this with caps on, since some people seem to be blind:
DO NOT SIGN UP FOR BNC'S - NO REQUESTS WILL BE ACCEPTED!
SUSPENDED USERS WILL NOT BE UNSUSPENDED!!!
And please, for the love of god, STOP mailing us about getting your BNC unsuspended or your request accepted, I have said this many times, and I'll say it again: THE SERVICE IS CLOSED!

Despedida

Service shutting down
Posted: 23-08-2008 19:18 | 0 CommentsAs you may have noticed recently, the network and its servers have been under heavy DDoS. This leaves us no other choice but shutting down the service for good (permanently). This is much unfortunate, but there's nothing to do about it.
I would like to thank the friendly users of the service for participating.
The service will be running as long as possible - i.e. till the plug is pulled.

Network names
Posted: 29-07-2008 14:07 | 0 CommentsGreetings,
I am getting tired of people not bothering to type the correct name of the network, or typing in a servername instead of a network name.
if your going to be on undernet type in Undernet not fucking irc.undernet.org.
if your going to be on Dalnet, dont just write Dal or irc.dal.net write Dalnet.
Your wasting our time, typing in bogus network names. We need to manually edit your network name if you type in bullshit.
In the next period of time i am denying all requests with bogus names... if you dont have the brains to type in the correct network name, you dont need a BNC... if you cant find a network name type in //echo -a $network in mirc and it WILL say the network name providing the network has the correct RAW 005 reply.

Wait times

Unused TotalIRC BNC's
Posted: 10-07-2008 06:17 | 0 CommentsGreetings,
It has come to our attention that some BNC's that are requested for TotalIRC are not being used at all.
There is no reason what so ever to keep them running.
Its just wasting ram.
When I get back Sunday or Monday I will delete all BNC's requested for TotalIRC that are not currently connected to TotalIRC.
And some time in the near future I will delete all BNC's requested for TotalIRC to make sure people are actually using them and not just having them sitting and idling while they enjoy their BNC.
The BNC's for use on TotalIRC are not to be used like bots... that ruins the whole reason to our service.
ALSO note, we deny ALL BNC requests for the network TotalIRC untill after you nick is registered for 30 days...

Tux had another downtime
Posted: 10-07-2008 00:12 | 0 CommentsGreetings,
yesterday I found it an requirement to bring down tux's router down again. This was due to some hardware "upgrades" to make it more silent. Witch was well worth the effort. Now i will not need to worry about people turning it off during the night if I have someone over.
Since its 100% soundless. 0 db.
This however marks a second downtime in 3 days on the same server, witch can sound a bit unstable, but downtime should not happen again at least to my knowledge.

Tux downtime
Posted: 06-07-2008 06:46 | 2 Comments6 july 2008,
Greetings,
tux is going to have a few hours downtime later on today or tomorrow, depending on when i get around to it.
Reasoning is due to i need to move my desk etc away from its current location... there is a hole in the floor making it impossible to move around with my chair, ruining the floor even more by each day that pass's.
The downtime will vary... and will be my highest priority to keep it as low as possible.
I hope you will understand,

New BNC website in the works
Posted: 03-05-2008 22:22 | 0 CommentsGreetings,
We are in the middle of creating a new BNC website.
This would provide us with much better administration, and help those that do not know much about BNC's.
The plans are, we are going to disable nearly every command in the actual BNC, due to the fact too many people type incorrect infomation in, or simply do not have the brains to handle commands.
-
This will both make it easyer for staff to assist, sync the passwords up with the website and to be able to control the end-users abuse, witch we see often.
When we change to the new BNC interface website ALL BNC's will be reset, this means you will need to re-signup and request.
The new system will automaticly suspend people for not idling without given permission. And will automaticly delete suspended accounts after a short period of time.
Nicknames that are not registered will also be deleted from the system without a suspend, the reasoning will be in your email.
The plans are to start low with the website and gradually increase functionality. Allready as we speak it is alot more advanced than this current system, witch TBH was made when i was stoned, yes you got that right, this website was made in a stoner :P
There is no planned release date as of yet, but you will get a weeks warning over IRC.
I will NOT privmsg anyone about this. so its up to you to keep your self updated, and we do provide the info in the topic.
Also as a note, once we release details about the date of the update, we will temporary close all BNC requests untill the update is made.
More details about the administration system will be released once it is more complete, there is still currently alot of work to be done, i feel its currently months away from being released, however i am going to spend alot of free time on it.
I might ask some people for translations, once it gets to the part where i can inplement it into the website.

Reminder
Posted: 03-05-2008 22:24 | 0 CommentsIt seems there are alot of people who don't bother reading the rules at all or just the half of it.
If you wan't to keep or request your free BNC you should read the rules, This makes our work alot easier and it helps you alot more!
Most of the time some don't bother registering to nickserv or hardly idle in #BNC and #TotalIRC.
You can read our rules right here:
http://bnc.totalirc.net/?page=rules
And most important, READ THE TOPIC! Stay updated!
(Oh btw, if you did read this *CLAP CLAP*)

Clean up
Posted: 05-03-2008 17:26 | 0 CommentsWe decided to do some cleaning up, so ALL inactive accounts on the website have been deleted. We apologize if it cause any annoyance for those who were to request a BNC, but we have many users to keep track of, and it is not easy at all to do.
Also once again, for probably the 100th time, please for gods sake ONLY ONE BNC PER USER. DO NOT request more than one, we find out eventually, and will suspend your account(s). Every time this happens, you make baby Jesus cry + you waste our time.
Also we are aware of some servers are currently akilled from DALnet. There is not really much to do, other than wait. If a person caused this, we will, of course, eliminate his or hers account.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Alot of deleted users
Posted: 31-01-2008 19:02 | 0 CommentsMany people trying to get multiplial BNC's have been catched today. Many lost full chance of obtaining a BNC from our service again.
8 users have been deleted/suspended for either buying or selling our BNC's without us seeing the money our selfes.
75 users that got suspended the 26th has been deleted from the service. reasoning for their deletion was the non idling.
10 people that got deleted was due to nickname not registered with nickserv.
Still aint done much idle check atm but its only 5 days ago since last. But it will happen any time soon where i expect at least 20-30 will be deleted probally quite a bit more. I am actually wondering why people cant be bothered to read the rules, those that read them actually keep their BNC for a long time. and those that are social and help out here and there are actually excempted most of the time.

Suspended and deleted users
Posted: 27-12-2007 19:29 | 0 CommentsThis batch of deletion resulted in 25 suspended users and ~20 deleted users.
the 25 suspended users had either not mantained their nickname with nickserv, or neglected to idle.
the 20 deleted users were having multiplial BNC's.
This marks the first news post for suspended and deleted users... its time to show that we actually do delete people...
Usually every 2nd week we go though the list of users, sometimes even more often, many people has been deleted, we have had over 900 users within our service, and were currently hosting BNC's for around 150 different people.
Dont be stupid and try and cheat the system, eventually we will find out and you will have a hard time finding a FREE BNC service of this quality.
- BNC Staff
Important!
Posted: 17-12-2007 19:58 | 0 CommentsThis is just a notice to remember you that selling BNC accounts is a big violation of our Terms of Service and is STRICTLY PROHIBITED. We will take actions against any user who's doing it, and also all accounts that might have been sold will be due for termination.
If you have bought a BNC account from this user,
you have been scammed. This service is 100% free, unless otherwise arranged with DjMadness.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact us in #bnc on TotalIRC.

Also at the same time I am opening up for a limited amount of users to rent an IRCd/BNC shell.

The shell is excempted from the idle rules etc, due to the fact that its paid. Each month is paid in advance.
Please note theise shells are of limited amount, due to its meant for helping paying the server fee's.
No IRCd shell accounts may link to a major network.
Only verified Paypal accounts will be accepted.
the following shell accounts are availible:

Small change to website
Posted: 11-10-2007 03:56 | 0 CommentsWe have done a small change to the website, this is to help allow more screen resolutions handle the websites layout.
As you might of noticed the "powered" section in the right side of the website is now missing. This also puts the website in a "2 colums" instead of 3, making it more readable for some users.
We are in the process of improving the site as we speek, but it will take some time.
Major modifications are also being made to the BNC server software, this is due to some clients do not understand about the commands in the server software.
In the near future, everything in the BNC will be controlled via a web-interface. And an email will be sent out to all current users to sync their passwords with the BNC software.
better integration,
Currently this website is in a beta stage, it is fairly stable, but has a great deal of bugs that well the public does not really notice. This will be fixed in the next version.
A litle compilation of what will be changed:
*Website will be XML based.
*Integration of own stylesheets, with a few templates. (create your own style)
*Full control over your BNC via a webinterface. privmessages etc.
*Opt in for send email to you on privmsgs.
*Translations for different languages, following are in plans atm: German, English, Spanish, dutch and Danish.
*More integration of java, and speed improvements on the website. and error checking.
*Ability for privilidged users to control their other TotalIRC BNC's (some users have 2 BNC's, one for TotalIRC, and another for a chosen IRC network)
*Identd changing. Many have requested the ability to change identd, this is not possable with the current setup. and do not ask for this. (no we will still not change the username required to login on the bnc)
*semi-automatic Script genneration for setting up mirc to connect to the BNC and TotalIRC at the same time. Only thing needed to type is your nickserv password.
Nothing of the new system is coded yet. it is only in plans, but coding will start quite soon, and will not take long once its started. (estimated time: 1 month after begin, there is no planned date for beginning the project)
